Cezerye is a semi-gelatinous Turkish confectionery made from caramelised carrots, packed with nuts or pistachios and sprinkled with shredded coconut. The word Cezerye is originally from Arabic and it means carrot.

Cezerye, which according to rumours, recommended to patients by “Loqman the Wise”, who lived in Tarsus, has highly nutritious and aphrodisiac effects besides its healing power. Cezerye, whose main ingredient is carrot, contains a number of minerals and vitamins A1, B1, B2 and E, consisting of its composition of dry nuts and spices. It also contains no cholesterol.
